It is imperative as designers that we support one another. In that, I hope that every DBPP designer will honor the silent code of not scraplifting from another member for resale purposes. Imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, but not when the other designer is harmed by your imitation. While I understand that it is very hard to determine who is copying another designer’s idea or when it happens. We all shop at the same stores. We all buy the same papers and embellishments. We all read the same books and magazines. We all watch the same scrapbooking and crafting shows. However, you know when you blatantly copy another designers idea. Most of the time the designer you copy from is aware of this situation also. Please design and create with integrity and pride. If you feel it is necessary to copy whole heartedly from another designer, please do not put DBPP in your title. Be honest with yourself. You are the only person that knows 100% if you have copied too close to another designer’s creativity. If we feel you have copied from another designer enough for it to be obvious to the general public, you may be asked to leave DBPP. Thank you all for your continued support of one another and the DBPP group. I never in a million years could have imagined such a kind, diverse group of talented artists. Thanks ladies
How do you feel about scraplifting?

I have no problem with scraplifting for personal use at home because once the photos go on, it will become an original and most are not duplicated, NOONE has pages and pages of the SAME LO in thier personal home books, BUT to resale the ideas is wrong, I hate to even use the same paper sometimes although it may not be the same thing. Its rude, its theft, and not fair to the person who won the bid thinking they were getting an original idea and item.
I think most people have integrity especially creative people~Thats why I find is so odd and disturbing that peoples integrity would be questioned w/a signiture...
Not sure what 5:31 meant .. but speaking as the leader of DBPP, I can say that once the member "signs" the scraplifting policy and then gets caught doing something to be banned from the group .. they cannot say "I didn't know that" .. In the end, you are the only person that can know your true integrity.
Well, then everyone should be banned. Everyone spraplifts or there would not be countless paper bag albums, tear bears, tag albums, etc. We are get inspired from somewhere, whether it be a magazine or another eBAy seller.
Perhaps a better thing to call this policy is balant copying and trust me there is a difference.
Scraplifting is when one uses the exact theme, paper and reproduces anothers work almost exactly. It is obvious copying and not "inspiration" to interpet the piece in your own way.
